To celebrate World Environment Day, the Sacramento Area Earth Day Network has organised The River City Run which is a 5 and 10 km run / walk that is to benefit local sustainable living projects. The event starts and finishes in Old Sacramento and travels along the two major rivers. Last year, $12,000 was raised and awarded to eleven local sustainable living projects.
